How do I enquire about availability?

Please send an email (info@danescatering.co.uk or call 0121 206 2780) to enquire about availability.

Do you have a minimum order?

Yes, we do, our minimum order is £180.

What are your prices?

Our prices are based on the following:

  • The menu/package
  • The location of the booking
  • Type of service
  • Hiring equipment
  • Number of guests

All of the above will need to be determined to get the correct price.
E.g. for food only it costs as little as £7.50 for the cold buffet and upwards.

What is the maximum number that you cater for?

The maximum amount of people that we can cater for table service is 100 people. For buffet service and family service, there is no maximum number

How do I tell you my menu choices for the package I have chosen?

Please send your menu choices via email ASAP.

How do I make changes to my booking?

Please call or send an email. Once a service has been agreed on we cannot change it.

For example, if you have paid for buffet service (x 120 guests) and paid a deposit we cannot change it to table service.

How do I pay for my order/booking?

Payments can be made by bank transfer to the bank details on the invoice or a payment link can be sent. Please notify us by phone or email before sending bank payment as the date might already be booked (please attach a screenshot of the confirmed payments)

N.B Please check payment details before submitting a payment as bank account details may have changed.

Do you need kitchen access for all bookings?

No, we do not need kitchen access for all bookings but we need it for large bookings to aid with keeping the food hot. Please let us know beforehand if there is access to a kitchen as a fee will be added. As we will need to bring our heating equipment and extra staff. This fee goes for all bookings and starts from £1 per head.

The kitchen is required for table service, we cannot carry out this type of service without it.

How much food do people get when they include a vegan/vegetarian and fish in the packages?

Guests receive 10% of the V/VE option & 20-30% of the fish. So not everyone will receive the V/VE and fish.

E.g Silver package for 100 people

2 types of meat for all 100 guests

1 ve/v option for 10 guests

Fish option for 20-30 guests

Sides for all of the 100 guests

This is for delivery only, self-serve, and buffet service.

Do you travel outside of Birmingham?

Yes, we travel outside of Birmingham and internationally. Feel free to send the location of your event and a quote will be sent.

What time can we expect the staff to arrive?

We arrive at least 1 hour before serving time. This is for bookings that require serving staff. Delivery time is agreed upon by the customer.

Communication

Please communicate promptly with the Booking staff to ensure details are not missed. Please contact us by email or phone. Direct messages on Instagram will be disregarded.

How is the food delivered to customers?

The food is delivered to customers in large foil trays, please ensure that you have serving utensils available.

Do you provide drinks?

Yes, we do provide drinks; soft drinks, non-alcoholic wine, rum punch (£3.50 per head), and fruit punch (£2.50 per head).

Can you provisionally hold the date?

No, unfortunately, we cannot provisionally hold the date.

What kind of services do you offer?

Can we hire plates and cutlery from you?

Yes, you can. We provide disposable plates and cutlery as standard however, there is a cost to hire porcelain plates, stainless steel cutlery, glassware, and so on. Please complete the quotation form or contact form listing the type of equipment you’d like to hire.

What is the booking process?

To book with Dane’s Catering a quote form must be submitted or a phone call must be had and costs agreed. A deposit must be paid to secure the booking. Once a deposit has been paid you will receive an e.receipt and a booking confirmation email.

A service agreement will be issued for bookings that require staff or hiring equipment this is to ensure that we understand the customer’s needs & our terms and conditions have been read and understood. To avoid disappointment we would advise you to book as soon as possible as availability can be low in the summer months.

Can I confirm the numbers closer to the time?

Yes, please send your final numbers 1 month before the wedding and 10 – 7 days for smaller bookings

What are your payment terms/deposit requirements?

Unless a deposit is paid we cannot secure the date for your event unless stated otherwise. A non-returnable deposit (of £300 if catering for 50 people or less or £200 for 50+) is required when confirming a booking. N.B we do not offer full or partial refunds.

Bookings over £1,000 require the final balance to be paid 4 weeks before the event and for bookings under £1,000 the final balance is due 7 days before the event; unless an arrangement has been made.

Weddings on the other hand require a deposit of £300. Payments for weddings are taken in installments. The 1st installment is 20% of the final balance at the 5-month mark. The final balance is due 4 weeks before the event. For example if catering for the wedding costs (£4,500 including VAT, wedding date August 2027) a £300 deposit is required to secure the date. The next payment of £900 is due in March 2027 5 months before the wedding and the remaining balance of £3,330 is due 4 weeks before the wedding.

Bookings under £900 require a deposit of £200 and any orders over £900 require a deposit of £300 for general bookings and events. Full payment is required as per the terms agreed upon booking. If payment is not received we will cancel the booking.

Do you carry out site visits beforehand?

Sometimes we carry out site visits beforehand to check that the venue is suitable for the standard of service, however, videos and pictures of the venue can be sent to us via email.

A site visit will not be carried out if a deposit has not been received.

Do you fill out paperwork for our chosen venue or can you send your PL certificate to the venue?

Yes, we can fill out paperwork and send any necessary paperwork to the customer only if a deposit has been paid.

Please check with the venue regarding the paperwork for external caterers.

Do you offer Halal catering?

The meat we use is halal

What is the dress code for your staff?

Our staff wears black shirts (or white shirts) and black trousers, jeans or sportswear are not permitted.

Do you offer menu tasting/sampling?

Yes, we do offer menu tasting/sampling.

During this session, you will be able to meet with a member of staff, see our facilities, and taste the food.

It is £60 for a menu tasting (2 people to attend) and an additional £30 per person to attend.

How do I cancel a booking?

Please send an email or call us to cancel your booking. Booking cancellations made 7 days before the event are subject to a 50% cancellation fee.
